About: Roberto Ortiz the Cuban born Anthropology Researcher and Photographer

Roberto Ortiz, the founder say's that: Our unique approach to Culture in Anthropology is to centred around the harmonious integration of all those things which promote humanity. Art, Food, and Textile this are things of evolution, changing with time. Time isn't control, it shapes as the conditions change. This is why In Anthropology we call it: "Carbon Footprint" when we discover something preserved this are the 3 things we connect the period and the culture that lived with its condition at the time. We focus our attention to: Eurasia, Asia and Africa.

Background of Founders

Roberto Ortiz, himself uses the Anthropology knowledge gathered by visiting Indigenous and Native Communities around the world acquiring experience and passion for the field of both Cultural and Social Anthropology to bring his years of work into people's homes by publishing a monthly newsletter filled with issues of the period and culture that are shaped by the conditions of the time. A Social awareness with Culture tradition among its people, the deep appreciation and connection with the land. The vision that drives them towards creating an impactful and meaningful lifestyle that reflect their own evolution as lived today.

The Integration of Art, Food , and Textile

Roberto Ortiz, using the integration of Art, food and textile to provide a wider understanding of the indigenous and native cultures found around the world. We believe that by discovering Art /Textile/Foods from the places we visit we uncover meaning of the culture, it's not a purpose but rather a meaning to live within their surroundings.  This are the people who without knowing provide the clues and tell the stories when a 1000 year old discovery is made of its  people. We can create compelling narratives that captivate and inspire our discovery but the real treasure is the elements that the condition at the time provided within its communitie. Our work is to reflection on the evolution which push forward the ability to function within the social structure  that brought about diversity and cultural exchange.

Impact Through Visual Anthropology

Roberto Ortiz and Upmatehelps Anthropology aims to make a lasting impact with their visual anthropology of cultures within the period lived by showcasing the carbon footprints that push evolution with the 3 elements that provide the clues: Art/Food/Textile of local traditions. We hope to inspire while creating more empathy, understanding, and appreciation for indigenous and Native cultures.
